I walked a Labyrinth to bring in the New Year at the Centre for Spiritual Living in Edmonton (http://www.centreforspirit.com/programs/labyrinth).
This is not the first time I have walked a Labyrinth. My friend Janice Lewis in Chicago is a Veriditis Certified Labyrinth Facilitator and I had my first experience of walking a Labyrinth with her.
Last night was a special walk. The outside of the Labyrinth and the centre was outlined with candles. We walked into the candle lit Labyrinth with the intention of leaving 2014 behind, a walking meditation.
When we reached the centre there were 6 stations for us to stand and meditate on how we wanted to take each of these — physical well being & health, fun, spiritual practice, work & money, love & relationships and learning — into 2015. Once we had set our intentions we left the centre and walked the Labyrinth back and exited. Once we left we took the time to write our intentions for 2015 sealing them in an envelope leaving it to be reviewed December 2015.
This was a great way to bring in the New Year. The meditative process helped me quiet my mind and allowed me to release last year and clear the way for a new one, 2015.
If you have never walked a Labyrinth, I highly recommend it. It is a walking meditation and especially helpful for those who have a challenge meditating.
